Documenting spring, summer and autumn through textiles colored with soil.
Documenting the spring, summer and autumn of 2024 through textiles colored with soil. The soil patterns are exposed to the weather conditions, creating a palette of mineral colored textiles.

This work follows up the proces of the project Weer Blauw/Weathering Blue, that also took place in the historic open-air part of the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen (NL). Where before a blue pigment used in the laundry service was used to colour textiles; this time soils from different places in the Netherlands were collected to paint the second hand (also damast woven) textiles. Exposed to the weather, the soils engrained their colour hue in the textiles fixating them into a range of browns and yellows.
A weathering laundry service created textiles to create a collection of garments.

With great support by Elise Ory the textile part is developed and produced.
And together with RenĂ©e Rooijmans and Sebas van Kints a space was created in an historical barn whit a ‘weather-table’ to provide the visitors a space to reflect on the weather. A folding wall collected the notes, leading to a big collection of weather-data and drawings from personal observations.
